Julie Bishop

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has been in discussion with her Malaysian counterpart in regard to the new aircraft debris found on Reunion Island, however has made no further insights.

Malaysia yesterday has said that a wing part, called a flaperon, that was found earlier is certainly part of the missing MH370 and Foreign Minister Aniyah Aman has spoken out saying that the seat cushions and window panes have been sent to France for analysis

‘I think it’s important for us to allow the investigation team to conduct their analysis and ensure that if it is part of the plane, the announcement is made as soon as possible,’ Ms Bishop told reporters after Friday’s meeting.

France has now launched new searches by air, land and sea from the Indian Ocean island of Reunion, with hope of finding more wreckage from MH370
